Accident Investigations

Independent technical investigation support to identify causes, validate findings, and support aviation safety decisions.

Accident Investigations

At S & T Aircraft, safety isn’t just a requirement, it’s part of how we operate. We support aviation investigations by working alongside organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, as well as other regulatory authorities worldwide. Our role is straightforward: provide accurate technical analysis to help determine what happened and why.

While this work is often performed in support of official investigations, we also assist operators and owners who need an independent evaluation. Whether you’re reviewing work performed by another MRO or questioning the condition of a component, we offer an objective, technically grounded assessment focused on facts, not assumptions.

The process begins with coordination. We work with the requesting party to gather key details such as aircraft information, operating conditions, and any available background data. From there, we define a structured approach to ensure the investigation is thorough and focused.

Once components are received at our facility, they are handled under controlled conditions. Depending on the situation, the work may include non-destructive testing, functional testing, disassembly, and detailed inspection. Every step is documented carefully, including measurements, photographs, and observed discrepancies.

After the analysis is complete, findings are compiled into a comprehensive report. This includes a technical assessment of the most likely cause, supporting data, and any recommendations aimed at preventing similar issues in the future.

The objective is simple: provide clear, defensible conclusions that stand up to scrutiny and support safer outcomes across the industry.
